Selecting a beautiful or useful product that we would like to see in our catalogue or online shop is just the start of a long process of verification, trial and tribulation.

Passing our eco-criteria

Every product has to pass our eco-criteria before we will sell it. The criteria we set are stringent, allowing us to only offer you goods which we believe, from the information provided by our suppliers, are environmentally sound and free from WWF priority hazardous chemicals.

Every supplier is required to complete a detailed questionnaire about every product that we are interested in from within their range. The questions cover everything from source of raw materials through to method of manufacture, packaging and distribution methods.

Checked and verified

The answers supplied are checked and verified by our Environmental Management Team in order to ensure that we are absolutely clear that what we are selling to our customers' is the best and most environmentally responsible that we can achieve.

A wide range of environmentally-sound products

Our process eliminates many products that initially may appear to be environmentally acceptable. The work is time consuming because it is so thorough and sometimes we are disappointed that we can't sell an item that we know our customers would appreciate. To date this has not stopped us bringing a wide range of environmentally-sound products together for your perusal and we are continually casting our web wider to locate more products in the future.
